With this installation Dean Maassen critically reflects his apprenticeship and the personal knowledge gained during that time.
The topic of the work can only be revealed by the recipients logical connection between each installation component.
The cinematic part shows a man sewing himself to the same jacket, which is hanging on the clothes rail. After having accepted its triviality at first, the garment is given a new meaning by the viewer by watching the film sequence.
The personal context of the jacket becomes evident by the two documents. Even though parts in the graduation certificate are blackened, the viewer recognizes, it must be a profession related to the real estate sector.
